Christus St. Vincent Hospital
- District1199NM successfully accreted Tele Sitter/Monitor Tech into Service and Maintenance. The Union is excited to have them UNIONIZED!
- District1199NM worked on a bullying grievance for the workers in ESD. The entire department came together in Solidarity and to speak about the bullying they have endured. The employees were tired of being treated with no respect, spoken down to, and having their jobs threatened. With the help from the Vice-President James Ortiz and Delegate Ricky Sandoval the Union won the grievance! The director is no longer working at CSV Hospital. ESD has a new Director today and the department is very happy.
- The Service and Maintenance Unit at Christus St. Vincent has full contract negotiations this summer. The Union and the hospital agreed to limit the number of contract articles they will each open. The Union negotiating team is President James Ortiz ESD, Delegate Michael Martinez ED, Delegate Carlo Fernandez PCU CNA, Delegate Alejandro Perez Dietary, Delegate Ricky Sandoval ESD. Yolanda J Ulmer Chief Negotiator and Lillie Sandoval, District Secretary/Treasurer.
Alta Vista Regional Hospital
- AVRH has a wage re-opener this summer. The Union negotiating team is President Marcos Ortiz Rad Tech, Jacob Knezevich CNA, Sandra Saavedra OR Tech, Yolanda J. Ulmer Chief Negotiator and Lillie Sandoval District Secretary/Treasurer.
- District1199NM had several meetings with management for COVID Pay, management was not immediately responsive, but the Union did not give up. In March, the Union and Hospital came to an agreement for an Extra Shift Incentive Pay and a Critical Staff Bonus.
- The Union and the hospital also agreed upon a MOU for Registrar Lead. A new position for the Bargaining Unit.
Los Alamos Medical Center
- District 1199NM LAMC RN’s were concerned about a possible asbestos exposure after a heavy snow storm caused the roof to leak in PACU and tiles to fall from the ceiling. The Union made a request to the hospital for asbestos reports. LAMC management refused to respond so the Union filed a complaint with OSHA. Shortly after the complaint was filed the hospital provided the information we had requested. We were able to confirm the workers had not been exposed to asbestos.
University Hospital
- The Licensed & Technical Unit is currently in wage negotiations.
- The UNMH Support Staff Unit is currently in wage negotiations and we are fighting for $15 minimum wage.
Holy Cross Hospital
- The Union negotiating team Martha Jaramillo, Teresa Dalke and Margie Cisneros concluded contract negotiations on May 11, 2021. Contract ratification will be held on May 26, 2021. More details about the specifics of the new contract will be distributed at contract ratification.

Training!
New & Experienced Delegates can receive additional training in a group setting. Topics include grievance training and problem investigation and general delegate responsibilities. The trainings are led by Mauricio de Segovia and Maria Burke.

Hospital Christus St. Vincent
- El Distrito1199NM exitosamente acreditó a Tele Sitter/Monitor Tech al Servicio y Mantenimiento. ¡El Sindicato está emocionada de se hayan SINDICALIZADO!
- El Distrito1199NM trabajó en una queja de intimidación para los trabajadores en ESD. El departamento entero su unió en Solidaridad y para hablar acera de la intimidación que han soportado. Los empleados estaban cansados de ser tratados sin respeto, de que se les hable sin importancia y de que se les amenace de sus trabajo. ¡Con la ayuda del Vice-Presidente James Ortíz y el Delegado Ricky Sandoval el Sindicato ganó la queja! El director ya no está trabajando en el Hospital CSV. ESD tiene un nuevo Director hoy día y el departamento está muy contento.
- La Unidad de Servicio y Mantenimiento en Christus St. Vincent tiene negociaciones completas este verano. El Sindicato y el hospital acordaron limitar el número de artículos del contrato que ellos abrirán. El equipo de negociaciones del Sindicato es Presidente James Ortíz, ESD, Delegado Michael Martínez, ED, Delegado Carlo Fernández, PCU CAN, Delegado Alejandro Pérez, Dietético, Delegado Ricky Sandoval, ESD, Yolanda J. Ulmer, Negociadora Principal y Lillie Sandoval, Secretaria/Tesorera del Distrito.
Hospital Alta Vista Regional
- AVRH tiene una apertura nueva de salarios este verano. El equipo de negociaciones del Sindicato es Presidente Marcos Ortíz, Rad Tech, Jacob Knezevich, CAN, Sandra Saavedra, OR Tech, Yolanda J. Ulmer Jefa Negociadora y Lillie Sandoval Secretaria/Tesorera del Distrito.
- El Distrito1199NM tuvo varias reuniones con la administración para el pago de COVID, la administración no fue responsiva inmediatamente, pero el Sindicato no se rindió. En marzo, el Sindicato y el Hospital llegaron a un acuerdo para un Pago Incentivo de Turno Extra y una Bonificación de Personal Crítico.
- El Sindicato y el hospital también estuvieron de acuerdo en un MOU para Líder del Registrador. Una nueva posición para la Unidad de Negociaciones.
Centro Médico Los Alamos
- Los/as LAMC RN’s del Distrito 1199NM estaban preocupados de la posible exposición a asbesto después de que una tormenta pesada de nieve causó que el techo goteará en PACU y que se cayeran azulejos del techo. El Sindicato hizo una solicitud al hospital para informes de asbesto. La administración de LAMC rehusó responder, así es que el Sindicato presentó una queja con OSHA. Un poco después de que se presentó la queja el hospital proveyó la información que habíamos solicitado. Pudimos confirmar que los trabajadores no fueron expuestos a asbesto.
Hospsital Universitario
- La Unidad de Autorizados y Técnicos está corrientemente en negociaciones de salarios.
- La Unidad de Personal de Apoyo de UNMH está corrientemente en negociaciones de salarios y estamos luchando para el salarios mínimo de $15.
Hospital Holy Cross
- El equipo de negociaciones del Sindicato de Martha Jaramillo, Teresa Dalke y Margie Cisneros concluyeron las negociaciones el 1 de mayo, 2021. Más detalles en cuanto a los específicos del contrato nuevo se distribuirán en la ratificación del contrato.

Los temas incluyen capacitación de quejas e investigación de problemas y responsabilidades generales de delegados. Las capacitaciones son dirigidas por Mauricio de Segovia y Maria Burke.
