Christus St. Vincent's

In 1974 the nurses at St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, at this time still a Catholic Hospital run by the Sisters of Charity, voted formally to have a union and excercise their right to collective bargaining for the sake of quality patient care and improved working conditions.

In the early 1980s the Technical workers ratified there first contract as a collective bargaining unit joining the nurses in the struggle for quality patient care under District 1199NM.

Recently, in 2007 the Support Staff workers at St. Vincent's joined the struggle for quality patient care and fair labor practices ratifying their contract and taking a stand with the Union.

In 2008 St. Vincent's Reginonal Medical Center partnered with Christus of Texas to create a new business model.  The hospital is now called Christus St. Vincent's.  The union continues the fight for fair labor practices to ensure quality patient care with this new administration.
